Best things to do in Paphos:
Top watersports: There are lots of ways to explore the warm, crystal-clear waters of Paphos' idyllic shores. Diving here is rewarding, with shipwrecks, caves, turtles and other marine life to discover.
Above water, you can enjoy all manner of watersports, including jet skiing, canoeing, pedalos and parasailing. Boat tours from the harbour are a great way to explore some of the tiny bays dotted along the coast, you'll speed boats, sea cruises, glass-bottomed boats and more are all easily available.
Best beaches in Paphos
Paphos is home to the longest stretch of coastline in Cyprus so there are lots of beaches to choose from, a few are sandy whilst most are a mixture of pebble and sand.
Two of the most popular beaches in Paphos are Paphos Municipal Beach and Alykes Beach.
Easily accessible in the centre of town, Paphos Municipal Beach is positioned next to the promenade. It is not a conventional beach. Pathos Municipal Beach has a concrete surface and wooden deck, furnished with sunbeds, parasols and ladders for easy entry into the sea. Its convenient location in town makes it a much-visited spot.
However there is a far bigger range of beautiful beaches and coves if you travel a little further out of town.
For a quiet beach in a picturesque setting, head to Faros Beach or Coral Bay. Coral Bay is a pretty, sandy cove hidden by the cliffs that surround. Its calm, shallow waters, beachside bars and restaurants, as well as its close proximity to town, make it a particular favourite with families.

Other notable beaches and bays include the Blue Lagoon – a jewel blue inlet of water, perfect for diving, tucked into the cliffs and rocks on the outskirts of Latchi.
Take a boat tour from Pathos up to the Blue Lagoon for easy access to this breathtaking spot where you can dive off the cliffs, swim to its shallow edges and relax in the warm waters of the Mediterranean.
Remote Lara Bay is another special spot. Home to the Lara Bay Turtle Conservation Station this is the famous place where the island's loggerhead and green turtles come to nest. A visit to Lara Bay means a trip to the conservation centre because you don't want to alarm the turtles in their natural habitat.
In the conservation centre you can find out lots of interesting information about the turtles and see rescue turtles up close.

The many magnificent ancient ruins and World Heritage Sites in Paphos are a must for any visitor.
See the remains of the ancient city of Nea Paphos at the Nea Paphos Archaeological Site in Lower Paphos. From the House of Dionysos to the Hrysopolitissa Basilica, Tombs of the Kings and Paphos Castle, Lower Paphos offers are a spectacular view into the city's history, harking all the way back to the fourth century.

When is the best time to visit Cyprus? It is possible to holiday in Cyprus at almost any time of the year. Temperatures in Cyprus remain above 20°C for an incredible nine months of the year.
The hottest weather in Cyprus comes between June and September when temperatures stay well above 30°C for the entire summer. After that, temperatures drop slowly so you can still holiday in Cyprus from October to November with temperatures of around 26°C in October and 22°C in November.
December to February is rainy season and temperatures fall to around 18°C. These winter months do still see some sun but it is in March that temperatures are back in the twenties and climbing into the thirties by May.
